When you look at Springfree Trampolines, you’ll notice a few things. The springless design, of course. The unique appearance. And, most definitely, the price.

“Why does this trampoline cost over £1,000? Is it even worth it?”

As the creators and sellers of Springfree Trampolines, we understand that the main hesitancy to purchasing one of our trampolines is the cost.

We can’t blame you for balking at spending thousands of dollars on a trampoline when you can go to Argos right now and get one for £200.

But there are reasons why our springless trampolines are pricier than others: They are, as independent research corroborates, the safest, best quality, longest-lasting trampoline you can buy.

We’re going to address the reasons why Springfree Trampolines are more expensive than other trampolines with concrete evidence, so you understand the purpose behind the price.

To give you a truly fair analysis, we’re also going to discuss the drawbacks to our Trampolines and who wouldn’t be a good candidate to purchase one.

We might be writing about our products, but we’re doing it openly and honestly: Everything you read here today will be factual, objective and with you, the consumer, fully in mind.

After reading this, you should have a clear understanding of whether paying the high price for a Springfree Trampoline is worth it for you and your family.

What Are Springfree Trampolines?

Springfree Trampolines were invented in the early 2000s by Dr. Keith Alexander as an alternative to the spring-based design that defined the garden trampoline since it become popular in the mid-20th Century.

The goal of the Springfree Trampoline was to create the safest trampoline to ensure that parents would have peace of mind about their children jumping on a trampoline.

This involved replacing the springs with flexible composite rods, making the trampoline frame hidden and creating a net that can bear the weight of wayward jumpers without falling to the ground.

Springfree Trampoline has since become one of the premier destinations to buy an outdoor trampoline and is the only mainstream brand to exclusively sell springless trampolines.

4 Features that Make Springfree Trampolines Different

Let’s now shift to the “Why” behind the high price point of Springfree Trampolines. Below are four features that differentiate Springfree from other trampolines:

Safety

Among people that have already purchased a trampoline this year, safety was the number one reason why they chose their trampoline, according to our 2023 US Shopper Survey.

What the Survey shows is that safety is still one of the primary reasons why consumers choose one trampoline over the other.

This ties into why Springfree Trampolines are priced so high: You’re getting the safest trampoline on the market.

Here are some of the safety features that all Springfree Trampolines come with:

  • The use of flexible composite rods, or mat rods, instead of metal springs means no pinch points for trapped feet or toes.
  • FlexiNet cushions wayward jumpers and “flexes” to prevent falling injuries—which are the most common type of trampolining injury.
  • The frame is hidden from the jumper’s perspective and is positioned below the jumping surface, making it impossible to fall on while jumping.
  • The SoftEdge Mat is 30 times more shock absorbent than the safety pads on a spring-based trampoline and it eliminates hard edges around the jumping surface.
  • Enclosure rods replace the need for hard metal poles that can cause impact injuries to the jumper.

Because of their safety features, Springfree Trampolines are the only brand to eliminate 90% of product-related injuries and have been given the PTTA Award for 2022 and 2023.

Quality

The next feature that explains the price of Springfree Trampolines is how they are constructed and tested to be industry leading.

This involves the parts of the trampoline itself, including:

  • The mat rods (replacing the springs) are made from advanced composite material that is 3x stronger and 4x more flexible than steel.
  • The hidden steel frame has three layers of rust protection.
  • The net and mat are UV stabilized and can withstand a lifetime of sun exposure.
  • The trampoline can hold a static weight of 1,500 pounds (although the single jumper weight capacity is either 175 or 220 pounds depending on the model).

The quality of the Springfree Trampoline is why a 10-year warranty is offered on all parts of the trampoline for manufacturer defects and workmanship. Warranties of this length are not offered unless the manufacturer of the product truly believes it will hold up for the long haul.

The warranty is also transferrable for up to three years or before 10 years of the original purchase. What also factors into the quality of the product, and thus the high price point, is the rigorous testing that the trampolines undergo before being ready to sell. Springfree Trampolines endure the most extensive testing of any trampoline on the market. They are tested to three million jumps, which is 500,000 more jumps than any other trampoline company. Every mat and net are individually assessed before being packaged, which no other company does with their trampolines. The precise engineering, use of premium materials and exhaustive testing are why you can expect a Springfree Trampoline to last at least 10 years under reasonable use. It’s also why they are generally low maintenance and don’t require as many replacement parts as other trampolines.

Bounciness

A common myth about Springfree Trampolines is that, by replacing the springs with composite rods, you lose some of the bounce that springs provide on a traditional trampoline.

This is unequivocally false, and in fact, the bounciness of a Springfree Trampoline is one of the underlying reasons behind its price point.

The Springfree 2bounce is similar to a traditional trampoline bounce because the mat has more porosity, which means it pumps less air and gives the energy back to the jumper.

But the advantage of the Springfree bounce is that it’s much easier on your joints. It has a smoother, less jarring bounce, than traditional trampolines do, making it gentler on your knees while still providing a bounce on par with trampolines that use springs.

This can be a real plus for adults that want to use a trampoline for a low impact, but highly efficient, workout.

For more information on the Springfree bounce, watch Dr. Alexander (the inventor of Springfree) explain the bounce behind Springfree.

Design

The final major factor that goes into the price of the Springfree Trampolines is their unique design.

Generally speaking, trampolines can be considered an “eye sore” for most, taking away from your backyard’s aesthetic rather than adding to it.

Springfree Trampolines do the opposite: Their high-quality, modern and distinctive design makes them a stylish addition to your garden. See the picture below for an example:

2 Drawbacks to Springfree Trampolines

The four features discussed above are why Springfree Trampolines are priced higher than other trampolines. But there are a couple of obstacles that must be considered before purchasing a Springfree Trampoline:

Cost

We probably don’t have to tell you that the main barrier to purchasing a Springfree Trampoline is the cost. See below for the cost of all the current Springfree models:

For some, the price for a Springfree is going to be too much to pay, and that’s completely understandable. Not everybody wants to pay a premium price for a trampoline.

Installation

Installation is another thing that must be considered before purchasing a Springfree.

Since Springfree Trampolines are more advanced than traditional trampolines, the process to install one usually requires two people and will likely take longer than it would to set up a spring-based trampoline.

However, you can download the BILT app on your phone and receive 3D, step-by-step instructions on how to properly install the trampoline. This tends to be the easiest and most effective resource for those that want to self-install their trampoline.

You can also opt to include professional installation at the time of your trampoline purchase if you don’t want to set it up yourself. Installation costs £200.

Are Springfree Trampolines Worth It?

Now comes the ultimate question: Are Springfree Trampolines worth your hard-earned money?

Every family is different, but in general, the following statements summarize who would and wouldn’t be a fit for a Springfree:

  • WORTH IT: For those whose top values in a trampoline are safety, quality, durability and style, and can afford the cost.
  • NOT WORTH IT: For those who cannot afford the cost or for those whose main value is to find a trampoline at a lower price point.

Whether you decide to purchase a Springfree Trampoline is up to you: We’re not going to say that they’re a fit for every family because that would be inaccurate.

But there’s a reason why Springfree Trampolines are at the highest end of the price scale: They are the “Ferrari” of trampolines, setting the industry standards for safety, quality and design while constantly searching for ways to innovate further.

We at Springfree Trampoline want to make sure you have all the information, good or bad, to feel confident in deciding whether a Springfree is worth it for you.
