Okay, we all know that for years traditional trampolines have had a reasonably bad reputation when it comes to safety and causing injuries, especially with lively kids who like to be dare-devils (we all know one!). For this reason, we understand that introducing a trampoline to your family is something that you really need to consider, research and understand the pros and cons before making the decision. Dr Keith Alexander, the mastermind behind Springfree Trampoline, had exactly the same issue and so, under the watchful eye of his wife, he decided to redesign the traditional trampoline from the ground up, making bouncing safer than ever before.

“I wanted a trampoline for my daughter. My wife said they were too dangerous, so I invented my own”

DR KEITH ALEXANDER, SPRINGFREE INVENTOR

When looking at the official stats from the US you really understand the importance of the reinvention of the traditional trampoline. Studies show over 100,000 kids in the US visit hospital every year as a result from an injury on a traditional trampoline… shocking, we know, huh!

As a Dr of engineering and Father, he was well equipped for this challenge… make jumping safe again! So, in a nutshell, his idea was to remove the springs and all hard surfaces from the bouncing area to eliminate as much risk of injury as possible. After many years, several prototypes and new designs later, Springfree Trampoline was born and has been sold worldwide for over 20 years!

Let us walk you through the key differences between Springfree & Traditional trampolines

The Best News

There’s no springs! YAY! Springfree use flexible composite rods which are positioned underneath the jumping surface so no fingers or toes can get trapped in them! Traditional trampolines not only have hard surfaces in the jumping area that could cause injury but the springs themselves can pinch or injure a jumper.

The Clever Bit

Springfree Trampoline frames are positioned beneath the jumping surface which means the jumper cannot come in contact with it. The exposed frame on a traditional trampoline is hazardous to jumpers and can cause an array of different injuries to the jumper.

It’s getting Geeky

Springfree Trampoline’s SoftEdge Mat is 30 times more shock-absorbent than standard pads. A Springfree Trampoline also allows you to jump right up to the edge. The pads on a traditional trampoline do not protect the jumper from injury and often lose most of their shock-absorbency after the first impact.

What’s not to Love?

Springfree Trampoline’s FlexiNet enclosure uses flexible net rods to cushion jumpers and prevent falls. In a traditional trampoline they use steel poles to hold up the net. If a jumper was to collide with these poles this could cause injury. The nets are often not attached correctly either further increasing the chance of falling off the trampoline and hurting yourself.

The Inner Garden Designer

Now we are biased, but the aesthetic of a Springfree is like no other trampoline on the market. Sleek and modern, Springfree Trampolines are the perfect outdoor toy that can either work with your garden design or can be camouflaged into the background.

BTW

This is worth knowing, our flexible composite rods are silent & do not squeak like tradition springs, meaning you only hear the squeals of fun and laughter from your children and no continuous irritating eeeek, eeeek, eeeek… you’re welcome!

Lastly & Proud Moment,

Springfree Trampoline has eliminated the impact areas that cause 90% of all product-related trampolining injuries. You can relax knowing your children are as safe as they can be but also enjoying every moment on a Springfree!
